Charlene Vespi

Charlene Sitterly is Program Director of the USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program and Adjunct faculty for the USF OTI Educational Center. She also is a Master Trainer for the State of Florida for the “Youth Works“ program funded through UC Berkley, CA.

She has previously served as Bureau Chief and Director for Risk and Program Management at the Florida Division of Safety in the Florida Department of Labor and Employment Security. Prior to that, she was the Division of Safety District Manager in Orlando. Other leadership responsibilities while serving in her State leadership role included being elected chair for the statewide Interagency Council, comprised of safety representatives from all state agencies.

She has served on many Strategic Planning Committees for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). She also chaired the OSHA Consultation Program Marketing Committee, responsible for creating the ConNect consultation promotion website that offers video and print resources for all states and territories to use in promoting their safety consultation programs.

Charlene is Past President of the National Association of OSHA Consultation Program Managers (OSHCON), and was formerly its vice president and previously a Regional representative. She presently is the chair of its education committee. Charlene has been a Director of Risk Management in public education (Palm Beach County, FL and Albany, NY) and a Safety and Security Director for a healthcare system (Martin Memorial Health Systems, Stuart, FL). She has served on OSHCON Consultation Task Forces, including IMIS, Measurement Teams, and Report Writing; she is a member of the AIHA Accredited Standards Committee (Z10) and has served on the ANSI committee for writing standards. Charlene has a BS in Human Resources Management from the New York School of Social Research, an MS in Education Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, NY, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
